Weird game, especially the first half. Looked like we were having a lazy kickabout in the park. There's definitely a pattern of us going into games underdone and having to save it with a rousing second-half performance.

Far from a captain's performance from Noble.

Scanned through this thread as been away with friends and family for a few days and I noticed nothing has changed

I said around 3 weeks back I wasn't convinced with Haller. I am not writing him off by any means as he clearly does have some attributes, but he seems a bit one dimensional to me and doesn't get about the park quickly enough. For 45 mil or whatever it was I would expect more of a 'modern' type of forward player and not a carbon copy of big Mick Hartford.

Tbh, the Palace defeat is harder to reconcile with than us doing a typical “West Ham” away performance at Everton.

And I don’t think the upcoming SheffU and Newcastle games are going to be a cakewalk. We miss, and lack another, Antonio type, someone with physicality.

We seem to play with one too many icing on the cake type player and one too few muck and nettles type player in our midfield.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread
it pains me to say this however crystal palace were EVERYTHING we werent the other week- organised/hardworking/ every time anderson got the ball he had two players on him - they stayed in the game , rode their luck and punished us

In neither the palace game or everton did the players play the game that was in front of them , or pellegrini react to what was going on....vast swathes of the pitch offered up to everton, whilst any possession we achieved was thrown back by cheap and doomed ball movement

Im fuckign depressed with these cunts

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread
The performance was as poor as it was at Oxford.
We desperately lack pace upfront not convinced by Haller at all. You can cunt me off on this but i think it would be worth getting Andre Grey from Watford - he'd be cheap and provide a dynamic we do not have ie pace and an outlet.

There was one moment in the second half, we gave the ball away (again) and they almost scored. As the ball went out for the corner everyone just trotted into the box, head down.

Not one person was giving them a kick up the arse or trying to organise stuff........ just meekly giving up.

Goose - you're right.

But it's having the confidence and kick up the arse, to keep on pressing.

Yesterday, you could see it in the body language. They went into their shell.

We need someone on the pitch to galvasnise and drive them on to press.

Rice in time might be that player - i don't know.

Pressing & pressure doesn’t take technical ability, just fitness & work rate.

The lack of off-the-ball movement into space yesterday made my teeth itch.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Other teams all just seem to have plans and drills at corners, throw ons, free kicks from certain areas, etc.

We just seem to be in what appears to be the right areas and then stand still hoping for the best.

Why should it surprise me though, we don't even cross the ball any longer. That's football 101 and we've prohibited it for some inane reason.

Im with you - that frustrated the fuck out of me yesterday.

Its happened for years, too.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Can anyone answer what possible reason there may be as to why we never move around when we have throwons? Is it a tactic? Is it deliberate? Are we just lazy?
